2. Kite Beach

Kite Beach is the forever public favorite beach in Dubai, loved by everyone in town. Families flock here over the weekend, while early morning workout enthusiasts hit the beach before heading to work. You can see joggers and cyclists anytime along the track. Known for its strong winds and waves, Kite Beach is a popular spot for kitesurfing, and you can rent paddleboards, kayaks, and jet skis for various water activities.

If water sports aren’t your thing, there’s a skate park, outdoor gym, and volleyball courts. The beach offers showers, changing facilities, and toilets. There are also plenty of food trucks, restaurants, cafes, and even mosques, making it a spot with everything you need.

You can walk along the beach from north to south for about 2 kilometers, enjoying the sunset and stunning views of the iconic Burj Al Arab. Though it can get crowded, you’ll always find a place to sit and chill.

All this explains why during winter, it’s our preferred location for our beach meetups and iftars. What’s better than a picnic on the beach!

Can I join by metro?
The metro is quite far, but you can take bus 81 from Mall of the Emirates metro station or a taxi from the closest metro station, which is On Passive, for a 10-minute ride.

Can I park easily?
You can park for free near Salt restaurant, but it gets crowded during peak hours. Alternatively, there’s RTA parking along the beach.

Can I swim at night at Kite Beach?
Kite Beach has several areas, and you can swim at night at Umm Suqeim 2 Beach.

2. Mercato beach

Mercato Beach, is a small beach situated near residential areas and provides a tranquil getaway with free entry.
People appreciate its peaceful atmosphere, available washrooms, jogging track, and convenient nearby paid parking. What makes it special is its proximity to Mercato Mall, offering easy access to groceries and dining options, perfect for a relaxing day of sunbathing and swimming.

4. Umm Suqeim 2 Beach

Residents call Umm Suqeim 2 Beach by many names, but it’s named after its location to make it easy for you.
This genuine and popular beach is situated right next to Jumeirah Beach Hotel, in front of Umm Suqeim Park. It’s perfect for enjoying the beauty of the sunset with the iconic Burj Al Arab, although the view is now partially obscured by the completed Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
The beach is super crowded on weekends but offers great facilities such as a running track, showers, and a few cafes. It’s not too far from Kite Beach.

5. Umm Suqeim 1 Beach

Umm Suqeim 1 Beach is located between Umm Suqeim 2 Beach to the south and Kite Beach to the north, making it easy to find a quiet spot and explore the neighboring beaches.
This beach is now part of the ones that stay open at night, featuring showers and changing facilities. To allow for night swimming, “Smart Power Poles” powered by solar energy light up the sea, and lifeguards are on duty for safety. Have you experienced night swimming yet? It’s a must-try experience!

Sunrise Beach, now known as the “new secret beach,” has taken the title once held by the former “secret beach” at Al Sufouh, which is now closed. This small yet beloved spot is popular for hosting birthday celebrations and special events.
The beach offers breathtaking views of the skyline, with the iconic Burj Khalifa in sight, making it an ideal location for both sunrise photography and relaxation.
However, amenities such as toilets and restaurants are limited nearby. We recommend avoiding evenings on weekends when the beach can become crowded and noisy.

7. JBR Beach - The Beach

JBR Beach, also known as The Beach, is a must-visit destination in Dubai, despite being crowded and experiencing heavy traffic during peak hours. It is one of the most famous beaches among tourists and residents. Located between the Marina and The Walk, this beach offers beautiful views, soft sand, and a wide range of activities. Tourists and locals alike flock here to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, making it one of the busiest beaches in Dubai. The beach features play areas, an inflatable Aqua Park, and even a cinema. The Walk at JBR, a bustling promenade, is lined with shops, restaurants, hotels, and cafes, providing endless entertainment and dining options.

During winter, it’s pleasant to walk or ride a bike along the area, from the Marina to JBR, or even to Bluewaters Island. For those seeking a more luxurious experience, there are several beach clubs and luxury hotels in the area. The beach is well-equipped with washrooms, and you can rent towels and sunbeds. While accessing JBR by car can be challenging due to traffic, there is plenty of underground parking available near the beach for AED 20 per hour. Alternatively, you can use JBR’s The Beach parking and get three hours of free parking for spending AED 100 or more at participating outlets. You can also reach JBR Beach via the DMCC Metro Station, followed by a 13-minute walk or a short taxi ride.

This small beach is known by many names: officially Jumeirah Public Beach, Nessnass Beach by locals, and Sunset Beach as it is located behind Sunset Mall. Facilities include a jogging track, changing facilities, and paid car parking.
There’s a kiosk by the beach where you can rent equipment for kitesurfing, paddleboarding, and kayaking. They provide amenities like toilets and showers.

La Mer Beach, once one of Dubai’s favorite beach destinations, is currently closed for renovations until the end of 2024.
This area, part of the bustling La Mer development by Meraas, used to be cherished for its cinema, shops, and restaurants.
Now, only a small section remains open for swimming until 5 PM daily.
Basic facilities like showers and toilets are still available, along with lifeguards for safety.
While you can still enjoy the beach’s picturesque artworks for photos, it’s recommended for quick tours due to ongoing construction.
For sunbeds, umbrellas, and more dining options, visitors are advised to wait for the renovations to complete or explore other beaches in Dubai.

Additionally, Jebel Ali Beach is often mistakenly referred to as dog-friendly. However, it’s not the case. The beach has lost some of its charm, with fewer facilities and a recent issue with algae. It’s mostly used by campers now.
